A seguir, ofereço a tradução ao português do texto originalmente publicado por Suso Baleato em seu blog, e que virou uma das referências internacionais do ciberativismo em favor de Wikileaks e da liebrdade de expressão. Recomendo ficar ligado no blog do Suso, pois o tempo todo está introduzindo atualizações tanto a nível de informação quanto de propostas.

Wikileaks está sob ataque. A nossa liberdade de expressão está sob ataque. Você pode ajudar a neutralizar os ataquesDNS com ciberações simples, completamente legais e em quase todos os casos gratuitas, como as explicadas a seguir. Basta escolher aquela que melhor se adaptar a seu perfil e possibilidades:

1. Mirror. Dispõe você de espaço (~2 GB) no seu website?  Se a resposta for sim, então você pode ajudar criando um mirror – i.e. uma cópia completa do website da Wikileaks – e tornando-o acessível no seu próprio domínio. Desse jeito, Wikileaks resistirá mesmo os mais duros ataques, graças a que os seus dados estarão distribuídos em milhares de sites independentes e aleatórios, localizados mundo afora. Aqui tem as instrucões para configurar um mirror. Depois disso, lembre de registrar o seu mirror, a fim de que as pessoas possam acessá-lo, e divulgue-o nas suas redes sociais. 2. Subdomínio. É você proprietario legal de um domínio de primeiro nível? (do tipo meudominio.com.br) Vá ao seu painel de controle do domínio e crie um novo domínio «wikileaks» vinculado ao endereço IP 213.251.145.96. (novo endereço IP, atualizado 2010.12.04 17:36) Desse jeito, um novo nome de subdomínio será criado, permitindo acesso global -desde o seu domínio- ao servidor de Wikileaks censurado. O meu é: wikileaks.susobaleato.eu. Mais uma vez: não esqueça compartilhar a sua contribuição nas suas redes sociais!
3. Ícone. Possui você um blogue, uma web pessoal ou coisa que o valha? Coloque na página de início ou em um novo post uma imagem linkada ao endereço IP mencionado no ponto anterior. Desse jeito, a sua web mostrará um logo de Wikileaks, o que permitirá um fácil acesso ao servidor censurado simplesmente clicando nela. 4. DIVULGUE A INFORMAÇÃO. Essa é uma parte singela mas essencial: mantenha seus amigos e familiares informados, faça-lhes saber que este assunto diz respeito à censura:
   1. Mantenha-se atualizado! A sua informação sterá mais valor se for precisa e atual. Você pode ajudar outras pessoas a resolver calquerá dúvida e poderá refutar informações falsas ou incompletas. Eis algumas das principais fontes que eu estou a usar para seguir a atualidade ao instante:
      1. O twitter de Wikileaks twitter. Nele publicam-se atualizações e as notícias mais importantes.
      2. WLCentral, autodenominado  centro de informações não oficial de WikiLeaks. Segui-os nos últimos dias e proporcionam informação muito precisa e em tempo real.
      3. Os jornais que estão publicando os detalhes do cablegate, notadamente The Guardian para lectores de língua inglesa e El País para os de língua espanhola.
      4. Seguirei acrescentando atualizações com as informações e propostas mais relevantes, que podem ser encontradas no final do post. Dê uma olhada também aos comentários, pois estão sendo muito valiosos e construtivos.
   2. Posts e comentários. Pode você publicar notícias ou comentá-las? Algumas pessoas, especialmente nos países do Norte, têm ainda liberdade para se expressarem a público ;o) Se é você um desses afortunados indivíduos, por favor pare para pensar a respeito do que a censura contra Wikileaks significa para a sua própria liberdade de expressão. Pois é, você acertou na mosca: você está perdendo sua liberdade de expressão. De fato, todos nós estamos perdendo nossa liberdade de expressão. Por isso, por favor, divulgue as notícias: conte para seus amigos sobre a censura, avise-os do seu novo sudbomínio wikileaks… compartilhe a lista de mirrors de Wikileaks.
   3. Compartilhe a informação e as iniciativas mais relevantes nas suas redes sociais. Cada vez que você posta algo sobre este assunto no seu muro no Facebook, que compartilha ou gosta as postagens doutras pessoas; e cada vez que você publica no Twitter com a hashtag  #imwikileaks ou dá RT, você está estreitando os laços entre todas as pessoas envolvidas e também ganhando novas adesões.
   4. Mobilizações. Mostrar o seu apoio a Wikileaks nas ruas é um jeito muito efetivo de divulgar informação. Você pode fazer isso sozinho – por exemplo, colocando uma faixa na sua janela – ou junto com outras pessoas, num leque de opções que vai dos protestos convencionais a soluções mais criativas como as flash-mobs. Encorajo vocês a praticarem as formas de protesto mais criativas e non-violentas. Quanto mais divertido, mais efetivo! Você não precisa de grana nem de uma organização forte: bastam criatividade e iniciativa. Na Alemanha, na Austrália, nos EUA, no Reino Unido… mobilizações estão a ocorrer em todo o mundo bem agora. É desnecessário explicar que todas estas ciberações não pretendem apenas «resolver» um problema técnico, porque o problema não é técnico, mas político. Não esqueçamos da razão por que Wikileaks está sob ataque: poderosos governos e corporações estão tentando ocultar os seus «movimentos na escuridão» do escrutínio público.

A primeira infoguerra para valer está a ser travada nestes momentos. O campo de batalha é  WikiLeaks. E vocês são as tropas.

1. Last 24h people was reporting problems with Twitter, since the tag #Wikileaks is not the most important one reported by their statistical system. Some people has even proposed an argument about censorship (@bubbloy thanks for that hard work!). Human beeings always tend to think that their our own issue is the most important one. Yes, this wikileaks thing is *really* important, but please: we will not be able to know whether Twitter is manipulating those statistics or not because we don’t know the algorithm they use. That’s a good example of why we must choose open source when we can. Thus, probably the most effective action concerning that issue could be to ask Twitter fellows to liberate the code of the algorithm. After doing that, please focus on a more effective action; as an example: the next one .
2. An official press release states that Wikileaks’ Defence Fund (the donations to support costs of lawyers, papers, legal taxes and the like) was frozen by the Swiss bank SBPF. You can directly express your complains to that bank (please, be polite: it will be more effective) electronically using this formular (DE, EN, FR, IT) and also you can call them directly by phone at 0848 888 710. I must insist: please be polite because on the other side there are humans like you an me, so please: don’t spread violence. We simply don’t need it to solve this.
3. Meanwhile, Wikileaks is currently mirrored on 507 sites (source: official Wikileaks site) This is a *great* success! We are in the right way! Let’s continue sharing and spreading the news!

Updated 2010.12.07 20:47  GMT+1 To follow the situation I want to recommend two serious and reliable informations sources: the britishThe Guardian for english speakers, and El Pais for spanish ones. They both are linking this post as well.

1. The editor-in-chief of Wikileaks, Mr. Julian Assange, has been remanded in custody (ES: prisión preventiva) until 14 Dezember. Don´t get alarmed: this are strange, although good news. I know this can sound crazy but please remember: a) there are people promoting damage -even assasination- against Mr. Assange, and b) there are governments trying to applyextradition agreements in order to capture him. Thanks to this decission of the British Court, he will be protected against any physicall injury, and he will be under a very flexible regime which allows him to receive visits and to maintain communication with outside. As a proof for the status of normality of this situation, I would like to forward you to the official anounce of the Wikileaks project after, stating that «tonight we will release more cables as normal«.
2. Message #1 for the troops. Subject: Targeting the battlefield of the infowar. The battlefield is not the servers of those companies who are suspending their cloud services. The battlefield is not the websites of those governments who are legitimating the censorship of the Wikileaks. Those companies and governments are just puppets doing exactly what the joint transnational corporations interest want them to do in order to keep their hegemonic position on this new global order. If we want to win the Wikileaks infowar we need to focus on the causes, not only the effects. The enemy to fight is not hidden in those servers; the enemy to fight is hidden in the words which are beeing massively inoculated in the minds of our family, our friends and the rest of our societies to make them to believe that any resistance is futile against their regime of secrecy and violence, using the very visible example of Julian Assange. The winner of this infowar will be the combatant who can make theirnarrative prevail: our narrative of democracy, transparency and welfare might be able to defeat their narrative of violence, secrecy and global fear. They are using the mass-media as a weapon to inoculate lies, sexual scandals and hate. We might use our own resources over the Internet to act as global whole demanding free speech and right to information. Thus, the battlefield is not the communication network; the network is the nervous system of the human progress: the real battlefield of this infowar is the nonspace of our globally connected minds. Wanna fight for global freedom? Then go back to the top of this post, and be sure to understand and put in practice all of the proposed actions. Let’s spread our narrative engaging more and more people to the resistance!
3. The mirror network has reached 748 alternative servers today!. In a few hours it will be reached  1.000.000 supporters at the Facebook page of Wikileaks!. Those are great numbers: those are numbers of victory! Don’t forget to let the people now about that!

Measuring the impact of the #infowar

I’m astonished. People from all over the world is massively accessing this page. More than 10.000 pageviews in less than 24 hours (2010.12.05 17:53 GMT+1) -and growing- from thousands of visitors all over the world -mainly Europe and USA- are turning this page as a central reference in the wikileaks struggle. I’m really impressed with the massive and global impact of this issue.
